Many young people with ideas and desire for the future
A breath of fresh air in the stagnant local audience: out of the box to change course
Conferences, contests, prizes to start-ups there are now daily and there is a bit ‘of everything around, useful initiatives for young people and to run the economy, but also events “crap” and speeches corny. TEDx, American format to spread innovative ideas, experienced yesterday in Padua in the usual way: he brought a breath of fresh air on the stagnant local audience, burst onto the scene by proposing to give a spark to the dormant Padua. But the spirit is absolutely positive and yesterday he was seen by the clean faces of the guys who organized and wanted Carlo, Benedetta, Silvia, Jacopo.
The slogan from which departed the winds speech was “Shake Your Mind and lead the change” or shake your mind and drive change. But it is the team spirit, the desire to do and to grow that struck me in a difficult moment for all of us entrepreneurs, in which I take part in the ritual lamentations, which produce only further depression.
Instead many young people here, so many ideas, so much future. I could talk to the massed audience and thirsty for knowledge (burned tickets at 20 euro for an hour and a half!) Talent Garden and coworking, but also #padovasoftcity, the smart city of Padua businesses, an opportunity to revive and innovate the productive part of our urban fabric, focusing on digital manufacturing, or transformation, adaptation, innovation, creativity to marry with our strong manufacturing industry.
But back to the event TEDx. Another way of speaking. Each of us has had eight minutes, we had to send in time the slides, share a certain style in the propose, telling a story, a narrative of clear facts, needs, action.
“Elevator pitch” they call it, a speech that an entrepreneur would do to an investor, if he were with him in the elevator. Synthetic, effective, giving value to every word. Light years away from the style used by most of the politicians at conferences where I participate. So posture, language, logic and emotion at the same time new, with the dry and clean style will be the figure of the new world in which we entered.
