There are several factors affecting the success of this social network, which counts every day a hundred millions of users (mostly young). They prefer an entertaining communication, no thoughts, no leaving tracks.
Bobby Murphy and Evan Spiegel founded it in 2011 in Los Angeles, because they had observed their peers’ habit to untag themselves or delete photos most compromising from social before taking a job interview.
Infact, Snapchat’s main peculiarity is that photos or videos sent in the chat are deleted immediately and automatically after displaying. Today the picture is no longer understood as a memory to preserve and defend, but more like a moment to share to communicate a mood.
It isn’t the classic chronological “diary” that we can see on Facebook.
The watchwords for Snapchat are fun and dynamic. It is becoming the preferred company by teenagers for the vitality of its functions, such as 200 stickers and filters that change daily.
Murphy and Spiegel were able to catch the right moment to put on the market their new app: infact, Snapchat’s philosophy fits perfectly with the spread of smartphones in the young people.
