Now it is official: Padova has her Digital Champion, a figure wanted by Europe Union to promote digital culture among citizens. He is Gianni Potti, businessman of communication and of the digital, co- founder of Talent Garden and president of Fondazione Comunica. The choice was made by Riccardo Luna, journalist, communicator and writer that in turn he was indicated by Matteo Renzi as Digital Champion for Italy. Potti is one of the first hundreds chosen by Luna that are met in Rome to define a common strategy. Italian Digital Champions will have 3 goals: 1) They are going to be a sort of help desk for public administrators about digital themes 2) They are going to move like defenders of the citizen in case of broadband absence 3) They are going to promote, even with the resort of crowd-founding, digital literacy projects, from children to grandparents. Accepting this role- unpaid- Potti has said:” I am proud to be chosen among the first 100 Italian Digital Champions. Now , as usual, we have to work hard to recover Italian digital divide that we have with innovation and reinforcement of digital culture”. So good luck to him and to all Italian Digital Champions!
