
At the Book Fair of Turin 2016 ten companies presents their DIGITAL STARTUPS

The area Book to the Future, the heart of innovation and creativity, is back again this year at the Book Fair of Turin. 10 innovative startups in fact have earned the opportunity to be protagonists at the Book Fair thanks to a tender launched in March.
The companies that were awarded the tender of the Book Fair, have had available to them a free stand in the Book to the Future and presented to the public (and to potential investors and partners), their ideas and their products.
The 10 digital startups of the Book Fair:
Laisply is a digital publishing company specializing in the creation of art’s application-books for childrens. Proposes a new learning experience for the digital natives with appbookExplorArt Klee: The Art of Paul Klee, children offering magical immersion in the world of Paul Klee. The paintings are transformed into animated landscapes to explore by your imagination and creativity, aided by hand-illustrated characters and accompanied by original music composed for the app.
Leggera presented Flook. Flook is an innovative platform for multimedia storytelling, fully customizable by users. On Flook, an author can create his multimedia story with text, music, video, photographs, animations. Any user can enter their personal media content at times chosen by the author of the story. The first author of Flook was Federico Moccia, with the original story: “You are obsessed.”
Libraries in the cloud is a platform for libraries that offers management services, e-commerce, billing, connection to the community. In addition, it allows you to manage events and workshops in bookstores. Everything is integrated with a search engine that allows anyone to find the book you want to nearby libraries, knowing the distance between reader and library. You can book, buy or withdraw the book in the library. The service for readers is completely free.
Memo COOP has presented MeMo Mag, digital magazine with an innovative approach to photo-journalism, founded by a group of internationally renowned photographers and in partnership with La Stampa. With the power of digital technology and photographic reports of quality, MeMo produces a transmedia magazine that combines photographs, audio, video, text, infographics and 3D animation with the aim of strengthening the photojournalistic language.
Papermine is a web app of advanced selfpublishing that allows anyone to create, publish and share interactive content without the need for any technical expertise. The published booklet can be accessed from any browser, without the need for plug-ins or other software, and are accessible from any device; they can also be embedded on sites and be shared via email or social. All booklets are provided with analytical built to track the behavior of players and search engines index their contents.
Quibee is an application that transforms the physical locations in emotions containers, thanks to the proximity technologies. Quibee allows the use of digital content in formulaall you can read within a confined physical space: beach resorts, cruise ships, waiting rooms, doctor’s offices, etc. A pilot project has been tested in collaboration with the RCS publishing group, which has made available the digital editions of newspapers, magazines and a selection of books. Currently the service is available on the primary line of Italian ferries and is present in some tourist villages Bravo Club (Alpitour Group).
Sheen has presented Starfriend -The place network, free social network that is based on places. Users can locate eight points of interest that characterize their past and future life and of which one, Star Book, is related to a reading. Thanks to an algorithm, you can also identify the users with whom you have an affinity relative to the places and books and share with them the experience. The social mode is enhanced by the action in a Bottle Book approach of leaving a book as a present in a public place, and to establish a possible contact with those who find it.
Verticomics is an app that allows users to read comics in a vertical format with continuous scrolling, optimized for tablets and smartphones. Every day is free released a new comic in vertical format. After that, the player can purchase comics that are liked more traditional format. The app is supported on verticalismi.it portal, website for the Italian independent comics.
XTeam Software Solution has presented 3D Tune In. The app is designed to help people with hearing disabilities. It was primarily developed for people with hearing aids but it is possible to turn a device (smartphone, tablet, console, desktop) in a virtual hearing aid that lets people listen better, even without a real hearing aid. It allows overcoming the disability and communication problems; integrating it with books, through an app, you can add an ethical value to the publication. All people with low vision, using mostly audio books, can use 3DTI to listen properly and thus better understand.
Yeerida might be called the Spotify of books. The idea is to apply the sharing economy model to the world of publishing and literature, with a reading platform for free streaming and unlimited. The catalog includes texts by the long and short fiction, scientific papers, textbooks, university, classics and sacred. Yeerida is also a social where the readers can talk to each other; join reading groups, sharing literary passions, comment texts and share songs and quotes. They can also interact with editors and writers, who in turn have a profile to which they communicate with fans or publish and promote content on the platform.
